DESCRIPTION: A photo essay of my creation that chronicled the travels of a University of Maryland gnome to important campus landmarks. He even met one very special Terp during his journey.
PURPOSE: The photo essay tells the story of student life and rich tradition at the University of Maryland from a unique perspective. Inspired by the fanciful roaming gnome concept used by Travelocity ad campaigns, I posed a University of Maryland gnome at lively, meaningful campus locations.
ROLE: Tasked with completing an engaging, storytelling photo essay, I created the concept and scouted all locations. As the principal photographer, I took all photographs and wrote all captions. I selected and completed basic edits for the final photos from a collection of thousands with the assistance of John Davidson, former Senior Visuals Editor for the Pulitzer Prize-winning The Dallas Morning News.
